Fantasy Bundesliga tips: 10 players to consider for Matchday 16

In this Fantasy Bundesliga article, we will not be focusing on the most obvious picks such as Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala.

Instead, we will highlight players with a maximum ownership percentage of 20%, who could offer great value as differentials for Matchday 16.

Alexander Schwolow, Union Berlin (Goalkeeper, 4M, 0%)

Frederik Rønnow has yet to return to training after suffering an elbow injury towards the end of last year, meaning Alexander Schwolow is set to start 2025 in goal for Union. His price tag of just 4 million makes him the cheapest starting goalkeeper, and with no timeframe for Rønnow's return, Schwolow should have a decent chance of getting more than one game in goal.

Anthony Caci, Mainz (Defender, 10M, 8%)

With Bo Henriksen's high-flying Mainz taking on relegation-threatened Bochum at home, Caci is a great mid-price differential. The French full-back has averaged 194 points per game this season, more than any other Mainz player.

Willi Orban, RB Leipzig (Defender, 11M, 16%)

With the exception of Leipzig's last two games before the winter break, Orban has been a consistent fantasy performer this season. The break came at a good time for Leipzig, who now have key players David Raum and Xavi Simons back from injury - something that should benefit the whole team, including Orban. A strong tackler and set-piece threat, the Hungarian centre-back remains a great option at 11 million.

Alphonso Davies, Bayern (Defender, 17M, 3%)

Since the arrival of Vincent Kompany, the Canada international has returned to form, scoring over 200 points in all but one of the games he's played since Matchday 4. His price tag is high, but he offers incredible consistency and is a differential too, with his popularity currently sitting at just 3 percent.

Paul Nebel, Mainz (Midfielder, 6M, 9%)

Nebel finished 2024 on a high, scoring over 400 points in two of his last three games. At just 6 million, he's one of the best value picks with Mainz at home to Bochum.

Ritsu Doan, Freiburg (Midfielder, 10M, 14%)

Like Mainz, Freiburg are a team to target this weekend, as Julian Schuster's men take on Holstein Kiel at home. With an average of 198 points per game, Doan has been Freiburg's second-best Fantasy asset this season, behind only Vincenzo Grifo, who is also a great pick this week.

Michael Olise, Bayern (Midfielder, 16M, 15%)

Olise has impressed since his summer move from Crystal Palace and has established himself as Bayern's number one winger. The Frenchman looked sharp in Bayern's friendly against Salzburg on Monday, scoring a brace, and his creativity and goalscoring threat will be particularly important against Gladbach on Saturday, now that Jamal Musiala expected to miss out.

Armindo Sieb, Mainz (Striker, 7M, 0%)

Jonathan Burkardt isn't quite ready to return to action yet, so Sieb should continue up front against Bochum. At 7 million, he offers great potential at a low price.

Michael Gregoritsch, Freiburg (Striker, 10M, 0%)

Gregoritsch began the season on the bench, but has battled his way into the starting line-up at the expense of Junior Adamu. His points tally isn't impressive, but the Austrian international should get plenty of chances at home to Holstein Kiel.

Patrik Schick, Leverkusen (Striker, 14M, 2%)

After Victor Boniface suffered an injury setback, Schick will continue up front for Bayer Leverkusen from the start of 2025. The Czech international has a tough away game against Borussia Dortmund coming up, but he finished last year in red-hot form, scoring nine goals in his last five Bundesliga games after finding the net four times against Freiburg just before Christmas.
