Fans react to the Bears' abysmal first half vs. the 49ers
It's safe to say the Thomas Brown era for the Chicago Bears could have started out on a better note. The Bears headed out west to take on the San Francisco 49ers in Brown's first game as interim head coach following the firing of Matt Eberflus, and it has been a disaster through one half.
Chicago trails 24-0 with just four total yards on offense. The defense, meanwhile, has allowed 319 yards and three touchdowns. San Francisco has punted just once, and this Bears team looks lifeless, even with a new voice at the top. Any hope of the Bears ending their six-game losing streak this weekend has disappeared.
It's been a tough game to watch, and we'll see if the Bears can show some life in the second half, but fans are beside themselves after the first two quarters.
Took a peek at the score. #Bears Fans Deserve Better Than This!!

The next firing will do it for the Bears. I can feel it.

I’ve been able to bitch about Matt Eberflus over the last two years. Today, I have no idea who/what to blame.
Effort is laughable. Being outplayed, out-physicaled, etc.
The #Bears look like a team who is ready for the start of the offseason.— Aaron Leming (@AaronLemingNFL) December 8, 2024

The only thing stopping 49ers today has been commercial breaks, end of quarter and 2 minute warning 🐻⬇️

Thank god N. Bosa, T. Williams, C. McCaffery, J Mason, B. Aiyuk and A Banks aren’t playing for the 49ers. This would be ugly. 😉

Embarrassing 1st half of football in all phases. This team has clearly quit on the season #Bears

Hey one positive from this game is at least we have officially eliminated Thomas Brown as an option!

George McCaskey has been the chairman of the Bears since 2011, when he succeeded his brother, Michael McCaskey.
The stadium, team presidents, GMs, HCs, QBs, OCs, DCs, etc. I’m not going to buy into the inconsequential subplots anymore.

If only there were some kind of acronym that could remind the #Bears how to play. Something simple and easy to remember...
— Dan Bernstein (@dan_bernstein) December 8, 2024
I can’t remember a time when Chicago teams have been this embarrassingly bad at the same time. A city full of teams going absolutely nowhere.

Sounds like the "outside noise" #ChicagoBears were hearing at Halas Hall was actually the "inside noise" in their own hallways. #smh

Serious question #DaBears fans. Does anyone trust Ryan Poles to hire a new HC??? I can't think why anyone would.
