Fans at Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the Atlanta Falcons will receive free food

Chiefs fans making the trip to Atlanta for Sunday night’s game likely already knew that concession prices at Mercedes-Benz Stadium are a great deal.

But it gets better for Chiefs fans who will be at the “Sunday Night Football” game against the Falcons. They’ll be getting free food.

The Sports Business Journal reported that fans at Sunday’s game will get two hot dogs and two bags of chips for free. They’ll also receive a souvenir cup that will allow them an unlimited number of Coca-Cola drinks, also for free.

“Levy Restaurants and the Falcons have ordered 100,000 hot dogs and bags of chips in preparation for a mass giveaway celebrating owner Arthur Blank’s induction into the Falcons Ring of Honor on Sunday,” the SBJ’s Ben Fischer wrote.

“Levy is ordering an extraordinary volume of food and temporarily expanding infrastructure. The 100,000 hot dogs is 10-20x the usual sales volume, and eclipses the 82,000 sold in all of last season. They’ve also created 20 new distribution points for the dogs, and are erecting an outdoor kitchen with 12 ovens to handle the day.”

Mercedes-Benz Stadium opened ahead of the 2017 season and at that time, the Falcons lowered food and beverage prices by 50 percent, according to an ESPN story. Fans spent 16 percent more money at the concession stands.

Some of the better deals include $2 for a hot dog, pretzel, popcorn or a Coca-Cola. A bottle of water, nachos or a peach shake are just $3. A beer would set you back $5.

ESPN’s Marc Raimondi in August posted a photo of all the food he purchased for just $20 at a Falcons game. This is crazy.
