Fans go in a frenzy after Derek Carr is named to the Pro Bowl in Las Vegas
Derek Carr is headed back to Las Vegas ... for the Pro Bowl, and his last goodbye to Raider Nation at Allegiant Stadium.
The Raiders announced Tuesday morning that Carr will be at his fourth Pro Bowl, replacing Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
Well... maybe this invitation got lost in the mail from past seasons but I'm going back to pro bowl #4. See you soon Vegas!— Derek Carr (@derekcarrqb) January 31, 2023
“Well... maybe this invitation got lost in the mail from past seasons but I’m going back to pro bowl #4. See you soon Vegas!,” Carr wrote on Twitter.
Fans and Raider Nation reacted to the announcement they thought was hysterical since Carr was benched for the final two games of the 2022 NFL season at home because the Raiders didn’t want to risk injury or else his contract becomes guaranteed. If Carr is injured at the Pro Bowl, his contract becomes guaranteed.
The Raiders have until Feb. 15 to find a trade partner or the team will release him to avoid the $40 million commitment remaining on his contract.
Derek Carr really playing in the Pro Bowl Games under the Raiders yet they haven’t given permission for him to seek a trade . What the hell??

I can just see it:

Ain’t no way he makes the pro bowl and we choose to get rid of him?

Carr recently thanked the organization, teammates and fans for the nine seasons he’s been with the Silver and Black. The team appears all but certain to move on from Carr after a disappointing 2022 season that saw the Raiders finish 6-11 and miss the playoffs.
Other quarterbacks who couldn’t participate in the Pro Bowl: Patrick Mahomes (Super Bowl), Josh Allen and Joe Burrow opted out of the Pro Bowl; Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert are injured.
Instead, it’s Tyler Huntley of the Baltimore Ravens and Carr.
It will be Carr’s first Pro Bowl since 2017.
After all that happened, Carr will be back inside Allegiant Stadium with a Raiders helmet and a patch on the Pro Bowl jersey.
Carr joins teammates wide receiver Davante Adams, defensive end Maxx Crosby, running back Josh Jacobs and punter AJ Cole as Raiders Pro Bowlers.
