Fabrizio Romano has just Tweeted out a series of emojis – but they’re pretty significant emojis if you’re a Chelsea fan.

The Blues were expected to get quite a lot done this January, especially in terms of sales, but things have really dragged on in many cases. One of the prime candidates to go was Cesare Casadei, and that was rumoured all the way back to the summer, but here we are on the 25th of January and he’s still at the club.

That won’t be the case for much longer, if you can decrypt Romano’s Tweet however.

He quoted his own words from a few days ago discussing Casadei’s potential move to Lazio, and added the shifty eyes to indicate we should watch closely in the coming hours and days.

The original Tweet from earlier this week said that negotiations were at the “final stages”, so we can only assume that whatever deal eventually is agreed is going to be very close to what Romano claimed back then. It will be something like the €12m up front fee mentioned, plus a 20% sell on fee to protect the Blues should the Roman club sell Casadei for a big profit.

Considering we paid something around €15m to Inter for him, it’s not going to be a big money-maker even in the best case scenario, which is a little disappointing given the resources spent bringing him in, shifting him around on loan, playing him a few times this season, and so on.

Hopefully, once this deal is done, the sporting directors can knock off a few other pending deals – the likes of Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka are still sitting around with no obvious prospects.
