FA Youth Cup fourth round opponents confirmed
Chris Moore's side booked their place in round four of the prestigious youth competition on Monday night following an impressive 2-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion, with Joe Brayson and Michael Mills both on target for the Toon teenagers.
Their reward is a home draw against Aston Villa, who claimed an emphatic 6-0 victory against Accrington Stanley in the previous round and notably won the competition in 2021, beating the young Magpies in the quarter-final stages.
The young Magpies have won the competition twice in their history after tasting success in 1962 before a side including Geordie midfielder Paul Gascoigne, lifted the cup in 1985.
A date, venue and kick-off time will be confirmed on newcastleunited.com in due course, with all ties scheduled to be completed by Sunday, 18th January 2025.
At this stage of the competition, when a match is drawn after 90 minutes, an extra 30 minutes of extra time shall be played (15 minutes in each half). If the score remains level after extra time, the winner shall be determined by a penalty shoot-out.
