Eye on the U: After wild Cal win and bye week, Hurricanes have another test in Louisville

Miami Hurricanes running back Mark Fletcher Jr. (4) and linebacker Cam Pruitt (22) celebrate with fans after defeating the California Golden Bears in their NCAA college football game at the California Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, in Berkeley, Calif.

It has been almost two weeks since the Miami Hurricanes’ wild and in some ways miraculous comeback victory at the Cal Golden Bears.

They’ve had a week off to process their latest rally that has kept their season perfect.

Now, the second half of the season starts with what was viewed as potentially their toughest matchup on the schedule at the start of the season in the Louisville Cardinals. Kickoff for the road game on Saturday is scheduled for noon.

On the latest episode of Eye on the U, Hurricanes beat writer Jordan McPherson and deputy sports editor Andre Fernandez look back on the Cal game, break down how Miami handled its bye week (including a players-only meeting) and dive into what’s ahead — including a discussion about Miami’s recent struggles in games after bye weeks and a look at where things stand overall in the Atlantic Coast Conference and college football at large.
