Extension-eligible players in 2023-24: Anthony Davis, Jamal Murray, Anthony Edwards, and more

The 2023 offseason is here, and so is the fourth annual edition of HoopsHype’s extension guide. Since the 2020 offseason, there has been an uptick in players signing extensions rather than hitting free agency. The biggest difference in this year versus previous seasons is the increase to the extension limits. Now players can receive a 140 percent raise off their previous salary as opposed to 120 percent.

Here is a list of every extension-eligible player, the maximum amounts they can get, and the probability of each player getting extended.

Free agency age: 27 years old in 2024
Career earnings: $53 million

The new CBA increased Dejounte Murray’s maximum extension amount by $16 million. He would still be able to receive significantly more as a free agent in 2024.

Onyeka Okongwu (Atlanta Hawks)

Eligibility: July 6, 2023 through the day before the start of the regular season
Free agency age: 23 years old in 2024

Eligibility: July 6, 2023 through the day before the start of the regular season
Free agency age: 26 years old in 2024

The Warriors may be interested in extending Chris Paul, but that would require guaranteeing his $30 million salary for 2023-24. His future in Golden State past this season likely requires them waiving him and then re-signing him on a cheaper deal.
