Chelsea are keen on signing an Italian international to potentially replace another who could leave the club soon, but they face competition.

Chelsea’s new owners have shown a lot of ambitions since they arrived at the club, spending a lot of money on signing up many top young talents from around the globe.

EXCLUSIVE! Agents are touting a couple of big name Chelsea players to other clubs!

So you are always going to be seeing the club looking at other talents and other ways of improving what they’ve got.

There could be a situation where they also might need to replace players as well, even though most of the current players at the club are on very long contracts. With Enzo Maresca’s big squad full of quality, there is bound to be situations where some become unhappy with not being part of the first Xl that is used for league games, and only being able to play in cup games.

Enzo Fernandez is a player who has dropped from the first Xl to the second, having to play cup games only, at least in terms of starting them, with Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo preferred over him. Fernandez set up three goals for Chelsea last night in their 8-0 smacking of Noah in the Conference League.

But there’s a chance he could reassess his options in the summer.

Chelsea keen on Ricci

Our sister site, CaughtOffside, have an exclusive out this week.

Chelsea and Manchester City are among the clubs showing an interest in the potential transfer of highly-rated Torino midfielder Samuele Ricci.

Sources with a close understanding of Ricci’s situation have informed CaughtOffside that along with Chelsea and Man City, there is also interest from Real Madrid, and perhaps even stronger interest from Inter Milan.

Our COS writer Mar Brus says:

‘With every passing game, it seems all the clearer that Enzo Fernandez hasn’t really delivered in his time in west London, or lived up to the hefty price tag that brought him to the club from Benfica.

‘Ricci looks like he could be an upgrade, and his contract situation at Torino could mean he’s available for a reasonable price.’
