Exciting Lightning Defender Has Big Chance

The Tampa Bay Lightning made a roster move yesterday, recalling defenseman Max Crozier from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.

This recall was understandable, as fellow Lightning blueliner Erik Cernak suffered an injury during the club's last game against the Anaheim Ducks. As a result, Crozier will replace the hard-hitting defender while he is sidelined.

This is an amazing opportunity for Crozier. He now has the chance to show the Lightning what he can do on the NHL roster again. The 24-year-old defenseman has yet to play in a game with the Lightning this season, so he will now look to prove that he deserves more chances on the Bolts' roster.

Crozier, 24, made his NHL debut last season with the Lightning and showed promise. In 13 games, the 6-foot-1 defenseman had two assists, 11 blocks, and 16 hits. He also played in three playoff games with the Lightning.

Crozier is also having a strong season with the Crunch this year. In 22 games, he has three goals, nine points, 46 penalty minutes, and a plus-5 rating.

It will be fascinating to see what Crozier can do during this golden opportunity. If he impresses, he could very well stay on the Bolts' roster for a longer period of time.
