Exciting Bruins Forward On Fire With Providence

Back on Nov. 11, the Boston Bruins assigned forward Matthew Poitras to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Providence Bruins. This was after he one goal, three assists, and a minus-4 rating in 14 games with Boston this season.

Following his demotion, Poitras struggled with Providence, posting just three assists in his first seven games. However, he has broken the ice since then, as he has four points over his last two games with the AHL squad.

Poitras achieved a new milestone against the Utica Comets in Providence's last game, too, as he scored his first career AHL goal. In addition, he added an assist for good measure.

With this hot stretch of play, Poitras now has one goal and seven points in nine games with Providence. If he keeps this up, we could very well see Poitras get another chance with the NHL roster in the near future.
