Ex-UK football star among 2024 inductees to Lexington African-American Sports Hall of Fame

Former Lexington Catholic star and Kentucky Wildcats safety Winston Guy is among the 25 — 23 people and two teams — who form the 2024 induction class to the Lexington African-American Sports Hall of Fame.

Joining Guy among the 2024 LAASHOF male inductees are former Bryan Station and Louisville Cardinals football standout Eric Shelton, ex-Henry Clay and Western Kentucky University basketball standout Steve Miller, and former Tates Creek and Duke University hoops star Vince Taylor.

Among female athletes being honored are ex-basketball stars Tracye Davis (Henry Clay, UK) and Erika Muncy McGinnis (Bryan Station, Kansas, UK) and former track stars Sherry Ballew Agee (Bryan Station, Tennessee State, UK) and Michelle Williams Johnson (Paul Laurence Dunbar, UK).

The third annual LAASHOF Induction Ceremony and Gala will take place Saturday, Sept. 21, at Central Bank Center in Lexington with the gala dinner and induction ceremony starting at 6 p.m.

The deadline to buy tickets for the event was Sept. 14.
