What seemed like an idea a few days ago now appears to be only a matter of time – Thiago Alcantara looks all set to become a part of Barcelona’s coaching staff in the coming summer.

Yesterday, the now-retired midfielder visited Barcelona’s facilities at Ciutat Esportiva, meeting coach Hansi Flick in the process.

There is no doubt that Flick is keen on bringing in Thiago as part of his coaching staff, knowing the former midfielder can add a lot of value to the technical team.

Thiago visits Barcelona facilities again

Although nothing has been finalised yet, Thiago has visited the Barcelona facilities once again today, in yet another indicator of his desire to join the coaching staff of Flick.

This is reported by Mundo Deportivo, which suggests that the Spaniard had visited Ciutat Esportiva early morning, just before the start of Barcelona’s pre-season campaign.

Thiago is yet to finalise any talks with Barcelona, but everything suggests he could soon become a part of Flick’s coaching staff.

How Thiago’s addition can aid Barcelona

The return of Thiago Alcantara, albeit in a coaching role, will serve as a major boost for Barcelona heading into the new season.

The former midfielder’s relationship and synergy with Hansi Flick has been well-documented. His exposure to Barcelona’s style of football and culture can also go a long way in easing the transition at Barça.

Not to mention, Thiago can help bridge the language barrier between the players and Flick, who does not speak fluent English or Spanish.

The coming few days could prove to be crucial as Barcelona look to confirm the addition of Thiago, who would join a coaching staff filled with experienced heads such as Marcus Sorg, Toni Tapalovic and Heiko Westermann.
