Ex-Manchester United star makes IMPASSIONED plea to Jurgen Klopp - Come rescue our team before it's too late
Former Manchester United and United States goalkeeper Tim Howard has made an IMPASSIONED plea to Jurgen Klopp to rescue his national team before the 2026 World Cup.
The USMNT suffered a humiliation on home soil at this summer’s Copa America, being eliminated at the group stages after picking up just three points from their three matches.
Lowly Bolivia were the only team the USA managed to beat, losing in disastrous fashion to Panama and their exit was confirmed by a defeat to Darwin Nunez’s Uruguay on Monday night.

Copa America embarrassment follows a disharmonious 2022 World Cup campaign as well as dropping their Concacaf Gold Cup crown to Mexico last summer.
These are dire times for US Soccer, who in under two years plan to welcome teams from around the globe for what is shaping up to be the biggest World Cup of all time.
Despite the presence of prime talent like Christian Pulisic, Weston McKennie, Folarin Balogun and reported Liverpool target Antonee Robinson, the USMNT have proven to be less than the sum of their parts in recent seasons.
If I was in charge of US Soccer, I would fly to Spain and pay Jurgen Klopp a visit. I believe I could convince him to take the USMNT job.
Gregg Berhalter will get the blame for this Copa America but much of the fault lies with the players.https://t.co/o7kEDkSgEW

Coach Gregg Berrhalter is now on the verge of losing his job with US Soccer fans and executives in panic mode ahead of a landmark World Cup campaign.
And Howard believes he has the solution. The former Everton shot-stopper has suggested FLYING to Mallorca - where ex-Liverpool manager Klopp has got his luxurious villa - and plead with the German to take the job.
It comes as prominent Barstool commentator Big Cat calls for a $500 MILLION deal to be put Klopp’s way in order to get him to sign on the dotted line.
Howard wants to persaude Klopp to take over USMNT
“I am willing to help my country in any way I can,” Howard wrote in his Daily Mail column.
“Proud to serve. So if I was in charge of US Soccer right now, I'd be on my way to the airport. Why? Because I believe I could make a very compelling argument to Jurgen Klopp to take over the US Men’s National Team.
“After the disappointment of Copa America, after the United States lost to Uruguay and exited at the group stages, I will personally fly to Spain. I mean it.
“I know Klopp has only been retired a few weeks and I know he wants a break. But if we sat around his villa in Spain, I think I could lure him over here. 100 percent. The money is certainly there.
Who funds the USMNT? Can they offer 500 million dollars to Klopp?

“So my pitch would be simple: he has a young group of players who can play progressive, front-foot soccer - exactly like his Liverpool teams. And in two years’ time he can go to the biggest World Cup in history.
“No doubt some coaches will look at the US and see a payday and a comfy life. So you can’t just go for any big-name boss.
“You need someone with high expectations, a clear vision and a clear path. Someone who is demanding of themselves as well as their team. Someone like Jurgen Klopp.”
It’s likely that any pitch for Klopp’s services would fall on deaf ears with the 57-year-old intent on enjoying his sabbatical, playing padel, watching tennis and attending Taylor Swift concerts.
