Ex-Lightning Tough Guy Suspended For Illegal Hit
Former Tampa Bay Lightning forward Tanner Jeannot was at the center of controversy last Thursday after delivering an illegal hit to Vancouver Canucks winger Brock Boeser. Jeannot received a match penalty and was subsequently ejected from the game. The Kings forward had a hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety and was issued a three-game suspension.

Jeannot played two seasons with the Lightning before being traded to the Kings this past off-season in exchange for a 2024 fourth-round pick and a 2025 second-round pick. Jeannot posted 18 points in 75 games during his tenure with the Bolts. The Estevan, Saskatchewan native was originally traded to the Lightning in February of 2023 in exchange for Cal Foote and five draft picks.
