Ex-Devils Big Defender Gets Rough Injury News

Calgary Flames head coach Ryan Huska announced that former New Jersey Devils defenseman Kevin Bahl will be out week-to-week due to an upper-body injury.

Bahl was out for each of the Flames' last two games due to his injury. Now, with this update from Huska, it is clear that he will miss a decent chunk of time.

This injury is certainly tough news for Bahl, as he is enjoying a solid first season with the Flames. In 47 games, the 6-foot-6 blueliner has two goals and has set new career highs with 12 goals and 14 points. He also has 67 hits to go along with 79 blocks on the campaign.

The Devils traded Bahl and a 2025 first-round pick to the Flames this past off-season to acquire star goalie Jacob Markstrom. In 148 games over four seasons as a Devil, Bahl had four goals, 25 points, 127 penalty minutes, and 261 hits.
