Ex Barcelona & Chelsea Star Declares: ‘Inter Milan The Strongest Team In Serie A, But Beating Them Not Impossible’

Lazio forward Pedro feels that Inter Milan are “the strongest team” in Serie A.

The Spaniard gave his thoughts on Monday’s match against the Nerazzurri after yesterday’s Europa League win over Ajax, via FCInterNews. He stressed that the reigning champions are not unbeatable.

On Monday evening, Inter travel to the Italian capital to take on Lazio.

Heading into the match, the two teams are level on points, albeit with the Nerazzurri having a game in hand compared to the Biancocelesti.

Inter are certainly right in the thick of the title race. They are the defending champions, and it’s the minimum of expectation for them.

But on the other hand, Lazio’s form has perhaps come as a surprise.

The Biancocelesti had a tumultuous summer. They had a number of players both in and out. And they hired a new coach in the form of former Hellas Verona and Lecce boss Marco Baroni.

But on the pitch, Lazio have been right up there with Inter. As have the likes of Atalanta, Fiorentina, and Napoli.

Lazio Forward Pedro Calls Inter Milan “The Strongest Team In Serie A”

Lazio forward said that on Monday, “It will certainly be tough for us.”

Inter are the strongest team in Italy,” the Spaniard continued.

“We have to prepare at our best.”

“We’ll be playing at home,” Pedro noted. “In front of our fans.”

“It will be a good but difficult match,” he anticipated.

The former Barcelona and Chelsea veteran then said that “Inter are a good team, but they’re not impossible to beat.”

“We can do it. But we need to put in a great performance.”

“Clearly it’s a higher level than usual. But let’s see what happens.”

And of Lazio’s title chances, Pedro said “We’re not thinking about that yet.”

“It’s too early to talk about it. We want to think about it one match at a time, but right now we can’t think about winning the Europa League or Serie A.”

“We can’t let them run away from us in the table,” Pedro said of Inter. “We need to keep them in touching distance.”

“It will also be hard for Inter to beat us,” the 37-year-old added.
