'Everything is rosy in north east' - Miller

Willie Miller has hailed the simplicity of the football being played by Aberdeen under manager Jimmy Thelin, and believes there is still more to come from the high-flying Dons.

Aberdeen have won all 13 of their games this season under the Swedish manager, despite the summer departure of talisman Bojan Miovski, and sit second in the Scottish Premiership, behind Celtic on goal difference.

Thelin's side go to Celtic Park after the international break, and Miller says "everything is rosy" before that top-of-the-table clash.

"I think there's still a lot of improvement to be made, but it's simple football," Miller told Sportsound. "Thelin has a really good shape, it's forward-thinking football.

"If you're sitting in the stands, you want to see attractive football, you want to see your team putting the opposition under pressure and Thelin has got all that.

"You're looking at Miovski leaving, and you're thinking 'what's going to happen?' - that's their talisman. They haven't missed him at all, they've found goals all over the pitch.

"Everything is rosy in the north east, and I haven't been able to say that for a long time. It will be a real test next week, I'm looking forward to how Aberdeen stand up to it."

Miller also highlighted the roles of several high-performing defenders in Aberdeen's winning run.

"The two full-backs - Nicky Devlin and Jack MacKenzie - who have been drafted into the Scotland squad, they deserve it," Miller said. "They have both been playing at a very high level.

"Out of possession, they aren't giving away many goals. Gavin Molloy has been really impressive, very thoughtful. He was bought as a project, they weren't expecting him to be in the starting XI, so that's a real bonus."
