Manchester United could yet sanction several first-team outgoings before the window closes on August 30.

Scott McTominay remains heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford, although his most likely suitor, Fulham, have now reportedly ended their pursuit to target United-linked Sander Berge instead.

Panathinaikos have tabled a four-year proposal to Facundo Pellistri, who’s never really got going in a United shirt, while Hannibal Mejbri is expected to depart in the coming fortnight.

One Red facing an uncertain future in the closing stages of the window is Jadon Sancho, with him undoubtedly being aware that he won’t occupy a starting role throughout the course of the campaign unless he gets his act together significantly.

The 24-year-old has attracted interest from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, the latter of which would see him face a similar battle for a place on the team sheet, given that the Stamford Bridge outfit currently has 43 players in the first-team squad.

The latest report doing the rounds regarding Sancho

However, a report from Fichajes this week claims that a return to Borussia Dortmund could well be on the cards for Sancho. He spent the second half of the 2023/2024 campaign with his former club, and while he didn’t replicate the prolific form we saw the last time he was in Germany, his performances were significantly better than they had been in Manchester.

“Manchester United, aware of the potential Sancho showed in his earlier years, are evaluating their options for the player, but everything points to Borussia Dortmund being his next destination again,” the outlet states.

“Negotiations between the two clubs are believed to be at an advanced stage, although a definitive agreement has not yet been reached.”

Still, the only factor preventing Sancho from a permanent Dortmund move has been their budget; it’s thought that they’d be unable to match United’s £51.4 million asking price.

Last Friday, the attacker was omitted from Erik ten Hag’s matchday squad for the club’s Premier League opener at home to Fulham. The manager cited an ear infection as the reason behind his absence.
