Everything you need to know about City Esports in the FNCS Major 3 semi-finals
The third and final FNCS Major begins this weekend, here is all you need to know about City Esports’ four Fortnite pros competing.
Major 3 is the final chance Trippernn and Threats have to qualify for the FNCS Global Championship which will be in person later this year.
Setty and Cold have already qualified for the competition following the former’s top eight finish and the latter’s FNCS Major 1 title win.
Following the two weekends of Open Qualifiers for Major 3, this is how each City duo placed:
·
Cold and Acorn – 55th
·
Threats and EpikWhale – 30th
·
Setty and Kami – 35th
·
Trippernn and Fredoxie – 111th
This means Threats and Setty, with their respective duos, will begin their Major 3 Semi-Finals journeys in the Upper Bracket while Cold and Trippernn will start in the Lower Bracket. All will be looking to qualify for the Major 3 Grand Finals.
SEMIS ROUND 1
Five matches will be played and each winning duo from those games will automatically qualify for Grand Finals.
Meanwhile, positions 6th-25th after all five matches will advance to Upper Semis Round 2. Positions 26th-50th will proceed to Lower Semis Round 2.
SEMIS ROUND 2
Upper Semis Round 2 also consists of five set-lobby matches where each match-winning duo will advance to the Grand Finals. The next-best 20 teams will then progress to Upper Semis Round 3 for one final chance to qualify for the Grand Finals.
If any of our pros place 26th-50th they will move to Lower Semis Round 3.
If any of the duos have moved to Lower Semis Round 2, they will play 10 open-lobby matches. They will need to place 1st-30th to advance to Upper Semis Round 3 and stay within the competition.
The teams that place lower, will be knocked out of the Major.
SEMIS ROUND 3
One final chance to qualify for the Grand Finals.
1st-25th after three set-lobby matches in Upper Semis Round 3 will grab one of the final few spots for the Grand Finals.
If any of our duos are in Lower Semis Round 3, they will need to finish in the top 15 or they will be knocked out.
The full event will be available to watch on Fornite’s Twitch channel and you can also keep up-to-date on our esports socials: @mancityesports.
Everyone at Manchester City would like to wish Setty, Trippernn, Threats and Cold, as well as their duos, the best of luck as they compete and look to help City on our way to a second FNCS title.
