Every Blue Jays manager in franchise history
The Toronto Blue Jays fired manager Charlie Montoyo on Wednesday, replacing the 56-year-old with bench coach John Schneider on an interim basis.
Montoyo was given a contract extension in the offseason, but an underwhelming 46-42 start to the 2022 campaign forced the team to go in a different direction. Now it's up to Schneider to get the most out of a squad that had legitimate World Series aspirations at the beginning of the season.
Montoyo was one of the more laid-back managers in Blue Jays history, as there have been some colourful characters in the dugout since the team came into existence in 1977. The group is highlighted by the likes of Bobby Cox, John Gibbons, and two-time World Series winner Cito Gaston.
