Everton interested in signing Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea

According to L’Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi, Everton are interested in a deal to sign Carney Chukwuemeka (21) from Chelsea ahead of the transfer window closing. The Toffees are eager to bring in reinforcements in midfield following Orel Mangala’s ACL injury, which has ruled him out of action for the rest of the season.

Interested in signing Strasbourg midfielder Habib Diarra (21), the Premier League club have been in discussions with the Alsatian outfit since the beginning of the transfer window. However, after failing to convince the Ligue 1 club to part ways with the French midfielder, they have now turned their attention to Chukwuemeka.

The former Aston Villa midfielder has struggled for opportunities in West London. Yet to feature in the Premier League this season, the Austrian-born midfielder has played sporadic minutes in the Carabao Cup and UEFA Conference League. It remains to be seen if the 21-year-old would be open to a move to Merseyside.
