Everton's pre-season ended with a draw as Dominic Calvert-Lewin helped them to a 1-1 draw with Serie A side Roma.

The Toffees struggled in the first half and were handed a blow when Seamus Coleman went off injured after just half an hour.

Dominated by the visitors, they fell behind to an effort from midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini and ended the half without registering an effort on goal, let alone one to test Mile Svilar.

Sean Dyche's side improved in the second half, and drew level on the hour mark through what proved to be their only shot on target of the game. Found by Dwight McNeil, Everton no.9 Dominic Calvert-Lewin beat Evan N'Dicka before firing past the Roma goalkeeper to restore parity.

Neither side could find a winner in the final half an hour, with two goals coming from two shots on target across the 90 minutes.
