We’re now at the semi-final stage of Euro 2024 and we’re constantly scouring the outright markets to find the best value. Carry on reading to find out best tips for a huge summer of international tournament football.

Euro 2024: Outright Winner

England went into Euro 2024 as one of the heavy favourites and we backed this summer to finally be the one that sees The Three Lions go all the way.

With a wealth of attacking talent, and a solid defensive base, England have all the tools to be crowned European Champions in Germany and, with BetMGM, you can get them at odds of 5/2 by clicking the link below.

“I’ve got them as one of three teams that could potentially win the tournament,” Dean Smith said on Squawka’s Euro 2024 prediction podcast.

“I think when we get to those final stages, there will be really tight games, when you come up against the likes of France and Portugal. It might even come down to penalties.

“I just think there’s so much quality in that squad. There are so many players who you expect to step up in those big games. Not just Bellingham, not just Kane, not just Saka, you’ve also got your Fodens and then you’ve got Mainoo who has come in and done big things in big games for Man Utd this season. It’s tough to say we’re going to go ahead and beat teams like France and Portugal but I think we can compete more than we have done in the past.”

Of course, Gareth Southgate’s men stuttered their way to the quarter-finals, with just one normal-time win against Serbia, Denmark, Slovenia and Slovakia. However, England just about did enough, then made it past Switzerland with a 5-3 perfect penalty shootout to book their semi-final date with the Netherlands.

Euro 2024: Name the Finalists

With the semi-finals set, the most likely final according to Copybet is Spain vs England. The Spaniards have been the most impressive outfit at the tournament so far, blowing away the likes of Italy and Croatia during the group stages and confirming their pedigree by beating hosts Germany 2-1 in the quarter-finals. They’ll be favourites to beat France and regardless of who they play in the final, they’ll retain that status.

As mentioned, England keep on finding a way to stay alive in this tournament. The Netherlands will provide a much bigger test than they’ve faced so far, but a solid defensive platform and moments of individual brilliance could see them through to face La Roja in Berlin.

Euro 2024: semi-finalists ranked

Below we have ranked the final four teams at Euro 2024, based on results, how well they have performed (xG for and against) as well as the strength of opposition faced so far.

4. England

England came into Euro 2024 as favourites, though that was as much down to optimism from English fans as it was their capability of actually winning the tournament. The Three Lions remain favourites, again due to optimism but this time also their potential run to the final on paper. England haven’t been good at Euro 2024 so far, winning just one of their three group-stage games.

They’ve also been close to going out in each of their knockout games, requiring last-minute heroics from Jude Bellingham against Slovakia and then penalties against Switzerland, falling 1-0 down after 75 minutes against the latter to raise the tension even higher.

England’s 4.38 xG is by far the worst of the four Euro 2024 semi-finals and ranks even lower than the likes of Slovakia and the Czech Republic. However, only France (4.47) have fewer expected goals conceded than Southgate’s side (4.79) among the final four, and it’s that solid defence and ability to keep things tight that may prove the difference.

3. Netherlands

Netherlands are another team to have underwhelmed at Euro 2024, scraping through their group with a third-place finish. It was always going to be a tough group with France also involved, but Netherlands were expected to finish second. And they went into their final group game top of the table, before dropping with defeat to Austria.

But Ronald Koeman’s men were more convincing in their 3-0 win over Romania in the last 16, while they showed great composure and heart to come from behind to beat Turkey 2-1 in the quarter-finals. Goals haven’t been too much of a problem for Netherlands at Euro 2024, with their defence instead letting them down. Of the four semi-finalists, Netherlands are third for xG (7.69) but only slightly trail France. Defending has been the bigger cause for concern for Oranje.

2. France

We won’t deny that France have been a tough watch at Euro 2024, but they know how to win. There are a few examples of teams previously winning the European Championship without playing overly well, and France fans will definitely take heart from that.

That’s not to say France have been bad. In fact, they’ve been fantastic defensively, having built their run on the back of that. In their five games at Euro 2024 so far, France have faced an Expected Goals tally of just 0.89 per match, the best record of the remaining teams and fourth overall. And the only goal they have conceded came from the penalty spot, with Robert Lewandowski getting a second chance at that too.

1. Spain

People weren’t too sure what to think of Spain going into Euro 2024, but La Roja have been the best side at the tournament; a status confirmed by beating hosts Germany in the quarter-finals. They’re the last remaining team with a perfect record, winning all three of their group games without conceding a goal, before beating Georgia 4-1 in the last 16 and Germany 3-1 in the quarter-finals.

They were seriously impressive against Croatia and Italy, though they relied on an own goal to win the latter, showing signs of wastefulness in front of goal. There were some wondering if they’d got stuck into a bit of flat-track bullying by beating Albania and Georgia in their final group match and last 16 tie, respectively. However, that win against Germany has affirmed what most were thinking about Luis de la Fuente’s side. Opta now give them the best chance of winning Euro 2024 at 30.4%.
