EURO 2024 hero Georges Mikautadze joins Lyon

Lyon have confirmed the signing of Georgian striker Georges Mikautadze.

Mikautadze joins the French giants after a remarkable summer in which he was one of six players to be crowned EURO 2024 Golden Boot winner with three goals.

Lyon’s interest in the forward doesn’t just stem from his sensational few weeks in Germany however, with OL having followed the 23-year-old during his loan season with Metz last time out.

Despite Metz being relegated to Ligue 2 at the end of 2023/24, Mikautadze scored 13 goals in 20 games leading to links with a number of European clubs.

It’s Lyon who have won the race for his signature though, with the attacker joining on a deal until 2028.
