According to a report by Le Parisien, following weeks of discussion, Ethan Mbappé (17) is set to sign a three-year contract with Lille OSC. The midfielder will undertake his medical later today and could take his first training session with his new club tomorrow.

Mbappé had attracted interest from a host of different clubs across Europe including Queens Park Rangers, Ajax, Sevilla, and Borussia Dortmund. The younger brother of Kylian Mbappé (25) had also been linked with Real Madrid, but he will find a new home away from his formative club in Lille.

Le Parisien reported that Lille had the advantage of providing a familiar environment, that would not force him into a change of language or culture. An aspect that was highly valued by a teenager about to sign his first professional contract.

Mbappé was also thought to appreciate the clear roadmap that Lille had provided him, with the club focused on helping him grow and develop as a player.
