ESPN pundit says Chelsea player “owned” Declan Rice “with a cigarette in his mouth”
One ESPN pundit put out his conclusions of the Chelsea vs Arsenal match last night, and he believes that one Blues player owned Declan Rice.
It was a very even game really when you look at all the stats, and either team could have nicked a win in the end. But Chelsea will be very pleased with the result given where they were last season, how far they have come, and how much they have evidently closed the gap on Arsenal since last season. I mean if you look at the current league table, they have done more than close the gap on them and there is literally now nothing between the two sides.
EXCLUSIVE! Agents are touting a couple of big name Chelsea players to other clubs!
Declan Rice has been consistently linked with making a move to Chelsea during his career, and The Blues were certainly a genuine option before he went to Arsenal.
But in the end, Chelsea signed a host of new midfielders including Romeo Lavia, Enzo Fernandez, and Moises Caicedo.
The latter is having an incredible season so far for Chelsea and is a huge reason why they are now playing much better and getting better results.
Caicedo owns Rice
Rice had a very quiet game for Arsenal, and really, Caicedo was a big part of that and was the much better performer on the night.
Former USA international turned ESPN pundit, Janusz Michallik, says Rice was owned by Caicedo.
He said after the game in words cited on X:
“Moises Caicedo owned Declan Rice, he owned him in the first half. He dealt with him with a cigarette in his mouth.”
Michallik was also impressed with Chelsea’s progress, he continued:
“The progress of Chelsea, frankly, is scary. It really is when you think about how young they are and where they were last season. What Enzo Maresca has done over the course of this young season has been exceptional.”
