Espanyol dealt injury blow ahead of Real Madrid clash
La Liga outfit Espanyol have on Tuesday announced a fresh blow on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that Brian Oliván is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.
Defender Oliván was for his part in from the off once more over the weekend, as Espanyol battled their way to a credible share of the spoils at Sevilla.
Inside the 20-minute mark, though, the left-back was forced into a premature departure from the action.
And, as alluded to above, on Tuesday, an explanation for precisely why has been provided.
As per a statement across Espanyol’s website and social media platforms:
‘Tests carried out on Brian Oliván confirm that the player is suffering from a hamstring injury in his left leg. Its evolution will determine his availability.’
Oliván, who has played his part in 17 of Espanyol’s La Liga fixtures thus far this season, is in turn expected to miss out against Real Madrid this weekend.
