English Premier League table: Manchester City faces another big test Saturday
The Premier League is back for another weekend of fixtures highlighted by difficult matches for both Manchester City and Manchester United.
After last week's extraordinary drama saw Man City claim a last-gasp 2-2 draw against 10-man Arsenal, Pep Guardiola's side faces a demanding Saturday clash at Newcastle United. The Magpies had been keeping pace at the top of the table, but need to bounce back after last week's 3-1 loss at Fulham.
On Sunday, Man United will host Tottenham Hotspur in a contest between two teams who want to be further up than their current mid-table placements. Spurs can point to two close losses to Newcastle and Arsenal as a reason why 10th place doesn't adequately describe their quality. The Red Devils, meanwhile, are coming off a disappointing home draw in Europa League play, and their only meeting with one of England's elite clubs ended with an ugly 3-0 home loss to Liverpool.
