Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is one of the most admired coaches to grace the English game and this admiration is shared by the English FA. According to RMC Sport, the English Football Association dream of appointing the former Barcelona manager to replace Gareth Southgate after he resigned from the post. The Spanish head coach still has one year remaining on his contract at the Etihad Stadium.

A proud Catalonian, managing Spain seems an unlikely avenue for Guardiola if he was to venture into international management. As a result, becoming the coach of England may be an enticing prospect due to his sheer knowledge of the Premier League and the English game. Candidates like Eddie Howe and Graham Potter are the current favourites for the post.
