Lee Carsley has been rocked by a wealth of withdrawals from the initial squad named for November’s break. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer and Phil Foden are among the headline names to pull out, while Aaron Ramsdale, Levi Colwill and Jack Grealish are also absent. Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite was called up as a replacement but has since dropped out, with Liverpool’s Jarell Quansah coming in.
Carsley has handed first call-ups to Morgan Rogers, Lewis Hall and Taylor Harwood-Bellis, while Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones could also debut in Athens.
England were beaten at Greece with an experimental lineup featuring no forward last month, and Carsley is set to make another big call. Ollie Watkins is reportedly likely to be handed the nod at centre-forward ahead of Harry Kane.
