Daniel Sturridge joined forces with Conor Gallagher, Jordan Henderson and Ben Chilwell to indulge in a fun-filled dose of England football nostalgia.

The former Three Lions striker, 34, was accompanied by the star-studded trio at St George’s Park to reflect on some of the nation’s most memorable recent moments.

Presented by Sturridge, in partnership with LG, the group turned back the clock to watch – and react to – several iconic goals that unfolded on the road to next month’s European Championships in Germany.

Shown on a new LG OLED TV, the star-studded quartet enjoyed clips including Harry Kane’s goal against Italy and Bukayo Saka’s stunning strike against North Macedonia, as well as some classic moments like, Ricky Lambert’s debut header against Scotland.

And in an interactive twist, Sturridge encouraged all three to channel their inner ‘Martin Tyler or Peter Drury’ by commentating on the moments they were watching.

Sturridge, who earned 26 caps for England between 2011 and 2017, told the trio: “As you boys know I’m in the media space right now – but it’s your turn today!

“We want you to do a bit of commentary – give me your best Martin Tyler, best Peter Drury from these clips of past and present England games. It’s the perfect angle – it’s all looking pretty crisp and clear on this LG OLED TV! The picture quality is next level, sensational.”

Chelsea midfielder Gallagher has earned 12 caps since his England debut back in 2021 and is relishing the prospect of doing battle with Europe’s best on the continent this summer.

Gareth Southgate’s side have come so close to banishing almost 60 years of hurt in recent tournaments and Gallagher, 24, believes those experiences of heartbreak can drive them even further next month.

He said: “I’m buzzing for this summer – it’s an honour to play for England and to be at a major tournament is incredible. Hopefully I can play my part as well.

“I just want to be part of the squad, be there and feel a part of it. We have a talented young squad with so many talented players, so it’s a really exciting time for England. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Fans can watch this summer’s main event in all its glory with LG OLED TVs, delivering brighter, sharper and true-to-life immersive action to your home. LG is the perfect partner for enjoying big-screen sporting spectacle from any viewing angle.

Sturridge has vivid memories of watching his Three Lions heroes on TV growing up and is urging fans to do the same ahead of a hotly anticipated summer of action.

He said: “It was always an amazing experience playing for England, living the dream and giving it my all for the national team.

“It was always something you dreamed of doing and you don’t know if it would be possible – you watch games on TV as a kid and you feel excited with all these people watching.

“When I was a kid, we used to watch on TV a lot – it was a huge honour to represent England and I’m really grateful for my time playing in a Three Lions shirt.”

From 13 May until 11 June this summer, football fans seeking the most immersive footballing experience from home can save up to 20% on all LG TVs and 50% off soundbars when bought with a LG TV. Visit lg.com/uk/thefa.
