Endrick joined Cristiano Ronaldo in an exclusive club in Real Madrid 5-2 Celta Vigo
A head-turning statistic surrounding the latest exploits conjured up by Real Madrid starlet Endrick has come to the fore online.
This, of course, comes after the Brazilian made his mark and then some on Thursday night.
Introduced off the bench during Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey Last-16 showdown with Celta Vigo, Endrick went on to prove himself the catalyst in Los Blancos’ triumph.
After proceedings were sent to extra time following a two-goal collapse on the part of Carlo Ancelotti’s side, the young frontman put the goalscoring burden on his back.
First, Endrick put Los Blancos back in front courtesy of a brilliant strike from the edge of the area.
Then, in the game’s closing moments, the 18-year-old conjured up another moment of excellence by way of a backheeled finish from close range.
And, importance in keeping alive Real’s Copa del Rey journey aside, Endrick’s brace also proved a significant one in the history books.
As revealed by statistician MisterChip, the South American last night became just the 5th player to ever score two goals for Real Madrid in extra-tme.
The other four? Santiago Bernabéu, Sotero Aranguren, Santillana, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
