Endrick explains his spectacular goal on UCL debut with Real Madrid
Real Madrid opened their 2024-25 UEFA Champions League campaign with a win over Stuttgart last night. Two Merengue players made their Champions League debuts last night, Kylian Mbappe and Endrick, and both were able to mark the night with a goal apiece.
As MARCA has reported, the latter of these players, Endrick, spoke to Real Madrid TV after the match and expressed his happiness on this debut. He went on to show his commitment to the White club as he shared a lifelong desire:
“I am very happy to make my Champions League debut with Real Madrid and to score my first-ever Champions League goal in my life and career. I’m very happy to help Madrid, which is what I want in my life.”
Few people expected Endrick to score his goal when he got the ball in that sequence of play in the very last minutes of the match. The Brazilian explained his thinking process as he scored the goal:
“In the first play I had, I passed it to Vini, and in the second play, everyone was switching, Vini and Mbappé, and I thought the best option was to shoot… and it was a goal.”
It was a great goal, and both Endrick and the spectators will remember it for a long time. It will be particularly memorable for the youngster as it was his first Champions League goal in Real Madrid colours, and it was also the first time that he got to play in the UCL with his new side.
The Brazilian has already impressed with the few opportunities he has got up to now, and hopefully will be able to gradually grow into one of the most lethal strikers in Europe in the months and years to come, and thus fulfil his dream of helping the Merengues win some important trophies.
