Ellen DeGeneres moved to tears by 7-year-old hockey fan 'Coach Cal'
Great moments are born from great opportunities, and seven-year-old Callan Perks definitely came through on his!
On Nov. 29, while Peterborough Petes head coach Rob Wilson was away at the Capital Cup, the OHL team elected to bring in a backup in "Coach Cal" to get the squad fired up for the Next Gen game.

The speech clearly worked as the Petes defeated the Ottawa 67’s by a score of 3-2. Coach Cal’s motivational words didn’t just have an impact on the Petes, however. Many across the world were impressed as the video of his pep talk went viral on social media.
Coach Cal’s positivity touched so many that he was invited on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday, where he delivered an impassioned speech to the longtime talk show host that brought her to tears.
If this little guy doesn’t get you fired up, I don’t know who else will!
Ellen was visibly moved by his speech and positivity. It was an unbelievably adorable and memorable moment for the Lakefield, Ont., native.
