Edmonton Oilers Prospect Dealt To Peterborough From Ottawa
The Peterborough Petes started the season abysmally but have been playing better as of late and have looked more competitive. Now, they hit the overage trade market to add a little bit of offense and sandpaper to their forward corps.
One day before the OHL's Trade Deadline, the Ottawa 67's announced that they had traded 2004-born forward — and Edmonton Oilers Prospect — Brady Stonehouse to Peterborough in return for two draft picks.
Below are the full details of the trade:
Peterborough Petes Receive:
RW, Brady Stonehouse
2024-25 season statistics: 18GP, 5G, 5A, 10PTS
Ottawa 67's Receive:
2027 4th round pick (SBY)
2028 6th round pick
The fourth-year veteran was a beloved fan favorite during his tenure in the nation's capital, because of his scoring ability, how hard he played the game and his will and determination on every shift.
His career in Ottawa finishes with 218 regular season games, 80 goals, and 146 points.

Despite not being picked in the draft, the Edmonton Oilers recognized the potential in the young man from Blenheim, Ontario, and signed him to an entry-level contract on Oct. 5, 2023.
His strong work ethic and fast-paced playing style suggest that he has the potential to become an effective energy fourth-liner in the NHL one day. Upon finishing his OHL career in Peterborough, he will head to the AHL or ECHL for the 2025-26 season, where he will start his professional playing career.
When the Oilers reassigned Brady to the OHL in early November, it gave the team four overage players. They don't have to worry about an overage limit battle anymore after making this move.
Acquiring Stonehouse puts the Petes in an overage logjam, already having Gavin Bryant, Jonathan Melee, and Ryder McIntyre on the roster. They can carry four 2004-born players on their roster, but only three can suit up in a game.
Another domino is likely to fall after bringing in the Edmonton Oilers prospect.
