Edmonton Oilers Assign Josh Brown To Bakersfield

The Edmonton Oilers have assigned defenseman Josh Brown to the Bakersfield Condors, it was announced Sunday.

Brown, who is in his first season with the Oilers, has split time this season between the NHL and the AHL. In eight games with the Oilers, Brown has collected an assist while putting up three assists in 20 games with the Condors.

Drafted by the Florida Panthers in the sixth round of the 2013 NHL Draft, Brown has appeared in 298 career NHL regular season games across parts of seven seasons. Over that span, he has scored 11 goals and added 24 assists for 35 points.

Signed through 2026-27, Brown has shown to be a reliable defender when needed. With the Oilers recent signing of John Klingberg, Brown may find it difficult to draw into the lineup consistently but will be one of the first called up if Edmonton faces injuries on the blueline.
