Early fantasy pickups for Week 13: Help for final playoff push

Week 13 is just around the corner and it will be your last chance to make the fantasy playoffs or improve your postseason positioning. Liz Loza has three names to consider on the waiver wire to help you reach the second season.

Atlanta Falcons upstart receiver Taylor Gabriel had a breakout game on Sunday. He racked up 102 total yards and two touchdowns in a win over the Arizona Cardinals. This goes beyond just one good game for Gabriel, who has been a top-15 fantasy receiver since Week 8 with five touchdowns in that span. He’s a speedster that can be used in the passing game and out of the backfield. He’s owned in just 5 percent of Yahoo leagues.

The rejuvenation of Colin Kaepernick continues. He passed for 296 yards and three touchdowns, plus another 113 yards on the ground against the Miami Dolphins. That’s two games with more than 400 total yards of offense in his last three. Kaepernick is likely to keep producing with a friendly upcoming schedule: at Chicago, vs. New York Jets and at Atlanta. He’s owned in 23 percent of leagues, and that needs to rise dramatically.

Finally, for deeper leagues, Chicago Bears wideout Marquess Wilson could be worth a look. He appeared to be Matt Barkley’s favorite option as he led the team with 11 targets against the Tennessee Titans. Wilson finished with eight receptions for 125 yards and a touchdown. He will face the 49ers, Lions and Packers over the next three weeks. He’s available in nearly every Yahoo league.
