Yes, the Eagles have been to the Super Bowl before. Their trip to Super Bowl 59 will mark their fifth appearance across the franchise's history. That's tied with six NFL teams for the seventh-most in the event's 59-year history.

Eagles Super Bowl record

The Eagles have just a 1-3 record in the Super Bowl. Their lone win came during the 2017 NFL playoffs (played in 2018) and saw Nick Foles lead the team to a 41-33 win over Tom Brady's New England Patriots.

While the Eagles have won just one Super Bowl, they also have three NFL championship wins to their credit. Those came in 1948, 1949 and 1960.

The Eagles' first Super Bowl appearance came in Super Bowl 15. They lost that contest 27-10 against the then-Oakland Raiders, as Jim Plunkett threw for three touchdowns while Ron Jaworski threw three interceptions.

Philadelphia's most recent Super Bowl appearance came during the 2022 NFL playoffs, contested in 2023, against the Kansas City Chiefs. They lost that game 38-35 after Harrison Butker kicked a game-winning field goal with eight seconds left in regulation.
