Is EA Sports FC 25 coming to PlayStation 4?
The wait for football's most highly-anticipated video game of the year, EA FC 25, is almost over.
Unsurprisingly, this year's release of EA FC (formerly FIFA) is the biggest and most ambitious project yet, with an array of improvements across various game modes. Ultimate Team will be much the same experience - although a 5v5 Rush mode has been introduced - but there are significant changes to Career Mode.
However, there will naturally be concerns among those yet to upgrade their old generation consoles - PlayStation 4 and Xbox One - given that support for these platforms is slowing down as they come to the end of their life cycle.
Will EA FC 25 even be playable on PS4? Let's take a look.
When does EA FC 25 come out?
There are two release dates for EA FC 25. Those purchasing the Standard Edition will be able to access content on Friday 27 September, with the game currently available to pre-order on a range of platforms.
However, those who choose to purchase the Ultimate Edition will be able to log into the game on Friday 20 September. This version costs more but provides a range of added bonuses and, most importantly, a week's early access.
EA Play members not only get 10% off the overall price of EA FC 25 but also a 10-hour free trial which is accessible from 20 September. Once this trial expires, the full game will need to be bought to continue playing.
Is EA FC 25 coming to PlayStation 4?
While a number of new titles are no longer accessible on old generation consoles, EA FC 25 will be released on PS4. That means the game is also being released on Xbox One.
However, there are certain aspects of the new game that won't be available to players on PS4 and Xbox One.
For example, HyperMotionV technology used in EA FC 25 is only available on new generation consoles and PC. Also, PS4 players will only be able to play against those on the same generation of console as them.
How much does EA Sports FC cost on PlayStation 4?
There will be no financial benefits to buying EA FC 25 on old generation consoles, with the PS4 Standard Edition of the game costing £69.99 - the same as on PS5. That's the same price as on Xbox but PC and Nintendo Switch offer cheaper prices.
The Ultimate Edition is even pricier, coming in at £99.99. However, as mentioned, there are added perks of buying the more expensive version of the game, including early access.
