EA Sports adds 15-year-old brain cancer survivor to FIFA 17

It’s the ultimate honour for any FIFA fan, but for Kenton Doust, 15, it means so much more.

The teenager and hardcore Vancouver Whitecaps fan was diagnosed with three brain tumours in close proximity to his pituitary gland. In late October he began chemotherapy at Vancouver’s BC Children’s Hospital. While he was in the hospital – which included 25 sessions of radiation – he befriended a few Whitecaps players including midfielder Russell Teibert and defenders Christian Dean and Cole Seiler.

Teibert was actually with Doust in May, when doctors told him that he was cancer-free.

Doust and Teibert spent many hours at the hospital playing the FIFA video game. And, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Doust was able to be a player himself when EA Sports added him to their popular footy franchise and gave him a legend card to boot. Doust can be added as a head coach and his staff card has an awesome 95 rating.
