Dynamic Karvinen A Sight To Behold For Frölunda

In a game where the story might have been goaltending — Frölunda’s Maja Helge winning her season debut with a shutout and Linköping’s Ebba Svensson Träff boasting a 133-minute shutout streak — fans were treated instead to an offensive display of force by Frölunda’s stars en route to a 4-2 win.

Elisa Holopainen continued her hot start, scoring Frölunda’s first and last goals of the night and Hanna Olsson ripped the game’s winning goal on a bar down snap shot that LHC goaltender Svensson Träff could see but simply could not stop.

Linköping battled valiantly, blocking shots and scoring two goals of their own, but they were simply no match for Michelle Karvinen and the Frölunda juggernaut.

Every Karvinen shift seemed to result in a Frölunda scoring chance, as she stole pucks, transitioned quickly, and used her impeccable skating and timing to slice her way through the Linköping defense.

Karvinen would end the evening with a goal (scored on a penalty shot, no less) and two assists, but those who only read her stat line are missing out: she is a player who creates and drives the play on every shift. Young aspiring players can learn from her; her opponents can only hope to slow her down.
