Everton boss Sean Dyche can count on his star man Dwight McNeil to deliver.

The striker has been involved in more goals than any other player since the former Burnley boss took over, with McNeil’s goal and assist in the first half at Villa Park making a total of nine goals and ten assists during Dyche’s tenure.

But no sooner had Everton gone 2-0 up – largely thanks to the great work from McNeil – Villa had pulled one back through an Ollie Watkins header.

That goal surely sparked bad memories of Everton’s collapse from a 2-0 winning position at home to Bournemouth before the international break.
