Dwyane Wade makes the most of every moment with his little girl.

The NBA legend, 41, enjoyed cutting loose during a "dance break" with daughter Kaavia, 5. Wade shared a video on his Instagram of the two taking turns making their way from the back of the playroom toward the phone recording on the floor.

Wade shares daughter Kaavia with wife Gabrielle Union. He is also father to three children — Xavier, 10, whom he shares with Aja Metoyer, as well as Zaya, 16, and Zaire, 21, who he shares with ex-wife Siovaughn Funches. He is also the legal guardian of his nephew, Dahveon Morris, 22.

In late December, Wade and Union posted photos and clips of them celebrating Christmas with their blended family on Instagram.

In a carousel of photos posted by Wade, the couple posed with their children and extended family in matching Christmas pajamas in front of a Christmas tree indoors.

“The Perfect Holiday 😃 with some of our LA love ones ❤️ Some games, some food, some laughter and a movie 🍿,” Wade wrote in the caption.

Speaking with PEOPLE in November, Wade opened up about fostering his relationships with each of his children, and how Zaya's journey has underscored the importance for him.

“I don’t want to just be one of those people who’s just been given to Zaya and she doesn’t feel open and confident in me,” he says of his daughter, who came out as transgender in 2020. “I want to show her what unconditional love looks like so she can use me as this sounding board through life.”

“I feel like it’s shown in Zaya,” he added of his unconditional love. “It’s shown in Zaya through the world because of her being a part of the trans community.”

Being a “great advisor” also extends to his other four children as well. When speaking to his children, the former Miami Heat guard makes sure to create spaces “where you feel that it’s no judgment.” It’s a habit he hopes to pass on thanks to his own parents, whom he has been able to freely confide in and vice versa.

“We have no judgment with each other and we’ve been through a lot of things that a lot of people on the outside would deem as something that we don’t look at it as that way,” Wade said of his parents. “And so that’s how I treat my kids.”
