Dutch Fork, RB boys stay atop standings. Ole Miss signee Lauren Jacobs has big night

After snow wiped out the area high school basketball schedule for much of the week, teams returned to the hardwood on Friday.

Here are some of the highlights:

▪ River Bluff and Dutch Fork boys stayed on pace in Region 4-5A. The Gators defeated Lexington, 64-32, and the Silver Foxes beat Irmo, 60-44. Both teams are now 4-0 in the region and will face each other on Tuesday at River Bluff.

▪ Northside Christian and Blythewood girls continued their hot starts. NC defeated Hammond, 57-24, and moved to 18-0 on the season. Blythewood defeated Westwood, 62-38, and now are 19-1 on the year.

Friday’s Starting Five

Lauren Jacobs, Heathwood Hall: The Mississippi signee had her fourth 30-point game of the season and scored 39 in a win over Ben Lippen.

Destinee Tiller, Eau Claire: The senior scored a career-high 38 points, nine steals and five rebounds in a win over Columbia.

Tealor Lee-Sutton, Keenan: Lee-Sutton had 30 points as the Keenan girls defeated Newberry.

Brian Sumpter, Keenan: The Wofford signee had his second 20-point game of the season, scoring 26 in a win over Newberry.

Aiassic Germany, CA Johnson: Germany had 10 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks in a region win over Lewisville.
