Durham goalkeeper Anna King has signed her first professional contract with the club.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Wildcats this morning.

King has come through the youth ranks at Durham and she has been a regular for the club’s Professional Game Academy League side in the last couple of years. The 22-year-old has also spent time with Durham Cestria in the FA Women’s National League Division One North. King is still awaiting her first team debut for The Wildcats, however, she is highly-rated by the club.

It has today been confirmed that King has signed her first professional contract with Durham. She will now continue to work within the club’s senior goalkeeping group and push for first team minutes this season.

After signing her first professional deal with Durham, King said “It feels brilliant. I’ve been here since I was 14, starting in the RTC and I built and moved up. Every step has taught me something new and I’ll take that into the season and hopefully learn some more as well.

“When you play for the club, you support the club; being here for so long and watching it grow has been brilliant. Being a part of the journey has been really special and getting a contract here makes it even better.”

Further squad news will be announced by Durham in due course.
