The draw for the Scottish Cup last 16 will be confirmed on Monday night, as neighbours Dundee and Dundee United face off at Dens Park in the final match of the fourth round.
A match that naturally drew eyes when the draw was made, Dundee go into the game unbeaten in three since their derby loss at the beginning of the month, including two draws against both sides of the Old Firm.
United lost back-to-back league games after beating their city rivals, but bounced back with a win at St Mirren last time out.
Three Premiership clubs were knocked out in Saturday's fourth-round action, and that will become four at Dens as the nearest rivals geographically in Scotland do battle once more.
Cup fortunes through the years
Both sides have history in this competition.
Dundee lifted the famous trophy for the only time in 1910, beating Clyde 2-0 in a second replay having previously drawn the final 2-2 and 0-0.
The Dark Blues have since reached four finals, losing them all, the most recent of which was in 2003 when Lorenzo Amoruso's goal earned Rangers a 1-0 win.
United meanwhile, are two-time winners, but have fallen at the final hurdle on no fewer than eight occasions.
Craig Brewster scored the only goal of the game in the 1994 final against Rangers, tapping home from close range after Christian Dailly hit the post to earn the Tangerines first Scottish Cup title.
Their most recent triumph came in 2010, as Craig Conway's double secured a 3-0 win against Ross County.
The Tannadice club most recently reached the final in 2014, but were beaten 2-0 by St Johnstone at Celtic Park.
Head-to-head record
You have to go back to 3 March 2013 for the last Dundee derby in the Scottish Cup. United got the better of their city rivals that day, with goals from Brian McLean and Gary Mackay-Steven doing the business.
Before then, you have to go back to the late 80s and early 90s for Scottish Cup battles between the two, with United again having the better of it.
The Tangerines knocked out Dundee in five consecutive seasons from 1987 to 1991, but would go on to lose three finals during that bittersweet period.
This season, the sides have played each other twice in the league. A captivating 2-2 draw on the opening day, before United's win to kick off 2025.
United ready for 'dogfight' & Dundee want to 'atone' for previous defeat
United boss Jim Goodwin says his players will do everything necessary to preserve that unbeaten record against their rivals.
"I don't think anybody cares a great deal in these derby games about the overall performance," the Irish manager said.
"It's the end result that they want. We've got a way that we want to play and we want to be entertaining and we want to get the ball down.
"But very often in these games because of what's at stake and the nerves that are involved in it, sometimes it can be a real dogfight. But my boys have shown over the last few months that they're more than capable of that."
Goodwin's Dundee counterpart Tony Docherty is out for revenge.
"We have been in really good form in the last five games," he said.
"The one in that run of five was the loss to Dundee United. We have addressed it with the players, it is something we need to try and atone for.
"I don't think our performance was enough to lose the game but there is more we can do to give us the best opportunity of winning this one."
