Ducks vs Blue Jackets Pre-Game Stat Pack

The Anaheim Ducks (4-7-2) will host the Columbus Blue Jackets (5-6-2) on Sunday evening at Honda Center.

The Ducks have only accumulated three points in the last seven games and are desperate to break a three-game losing streak and return to the win column.

Takeaways from the Ducks 5-2 Loss to the Wild

This will be the Blue Jackets' second game in as many days. They lost to the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday 5-2 and are winless in their last four games.

This will mark the first time 2023 second overall pick Leo Carlsson will face 2023 third overall pick Adam Fantilli. Fantilli was the frontrunner to be the second overall selection after Connor Bedard, but the Ducks front office selected Carlsson instead.

In 2023-24, Fantilli's rookie year, he faced the Ducks once, on Oct. 24, 2023, scoring a goal and an assist. Due to his game management plan, Carlsson didn't suit up for that game.

Carlsson faced the Blue Jackets on Feb. 21 and tallied an assist in a game Fantilli missed due to a lacerated calf injury that cost him the final two and a half months of the 2023-24 season.

Cam Fowler has 20 points in 26 career games against the Blue Jackets and averages 23:22 of ice time when the teams face off. He missed the Ducks' last game with an upper-body injury, and his status for Sunday is uncertain.

Trevor Zegras has scored five points in five career games against Columbus, and Mason McTavish has scored four points in three.

John Gibson was activated to the Ducks' roster after an emergency appendectomy forced him to injured reserve to start the season. He backed up Lukas Dostal on Friday and may get the nod in this game. In his career, he has a 7-4-1 record against Columbus and a .908 SV%.

If Dostal gets the cage again, it will be his 12th start in the Ducks' first 14 games. He has a 2-0-0 record against the Blue Jackets and a .924 SV%.

Kirill Marchenko has 13 points in 12 games this season but has been held without a point in four career games against Anaheim.

Zach Werenski has six goals and eight points in 12 career games against the Ducks.

Daniil Tarasov will likely get the start for the Blue Jackets after Elvis Merzlikins started on Saturday. Tarasov has started one game in his career against Anaheim, where he got the win and saved 27 of 29 shots (.931 SV%).

The Ducks have an all-time record of 35-23-9 against the Blue Jackets.
