The defending QMJHL champions Drummondville Voltigeurs pick up 2005-born blueliner Samuel Kingsley from the Victoriaville Tigres in exchange for 2025 NHL draft eligible Etienne Dupere and a fifth round pick in 2026 (originally from the Saint John Sea Dogs).

Kingsley, 19, had 11 points (4+7) across 35 games with the Tigres this season -- on pace to shatter his career high of 15 points that he set last season.

With this move, the Volts both improve their defense and also add experience as Kingsley has 136 QMJHL games under his belt and was part of the Tigres and has played 14 games of playoff hockey in the league already.

On the otherhand the Tigres add 17-year old forward Dupere, who had eight points (3+5) across 17 games in his rookie campaign thus far.

Neither player has any NCAA affiliation as of yet.
