The Kansas City Chiefs’ road to back-to-back-to-back Super Bowl victories begins Saturday at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium when they take on the Houston Texans.
As Sam McDowell wrote in his column this week, the KC’s pursuit of a three-peat had longer odds than a ‘miracle.’
The 15-2 Chiefs worked hard to be the AFC’s No. 1 seed and secure a home playoff game. And with good reason: Arrowhead is the loudest stadium in the NFL. A player poll recently ranked it as the hardest stadium in which to play for opposing teams.
Nature seems to be on the Chiefs’ side, too. The temperature at kickoff Saturday is expected to be around 23 degrees Fahrenheit — balmy, compared to last year’s home playoff victory, when it was minus-4 degrees. The Texans don’t have much experience in cold weather.
Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. Saturday and fans not braving the weather will have many viewing options. The game will be broadcast by ABC, ESPN and ESPN+. Locally, the game will be on KMBC (Channel 9) in Kansas City and KAKE (Channel 10) in Wichita.
